Women need to take back their roles

We don’t need a study to show us that a large portion of the female species is slowly letting go of their femininity. They’re preoccupied with fighting for equal rights and opportunities when let’s face it—there are some things that girls just can’t do compared to boys; and vice versa.

Being a woman myself, I’ve come to enjoy and appreciate my independence but I also accept my part in society and my responsibilities to my partner. Us both having a job is no reason for me to, day after day, come home and neglect my chores and household duties.

Consider this: long before civilisation, when there were no cars or houses or technology, men stood as the principal breadwinners in the home. Since that time the role of women has been mostly child-bearing and humble tasks within the abode. These were, and still are, founding principles of the human race and distinguishing characteristics of each gender.

Understanding that in today’s society, some couples need to both be working to survive and financially manage a household—this is still no excuse for women to use the term “I work too you know,” in order to get out of doing something.

Unless your male companion neglects the yard work, doesn’t change the light bulbs or fix the plumbing in time—you need to make sure he has food, clothing and a clean enough living space. Not saying that house work can’t be shared, but each must be able to make their partner’s life that much simpler with their masculine/feminine presence, else we should all be bachelors and bachelorettes.

In remembering our founding principles, we women need to take back our roles in providing motherly care, sisterly love and the passion and devotion that can only be found in a good wife—all while being a hardworking employee. Only these qualities can help revert the decline in society, especially when it comes to the development and morale of our children. So unless your testosterone level is that much higher than your oestrogen, then you have no excuse to be exactly who you are—a woman.
