Daron Cruickshank and Lincoln Roberts slammed a century each for Queen’s Park Cricket Club as the 50-Over Premiership competition bowled off across the island yesterday.
Queen’s Park Cricket Club cruised to a 109-run victory over Victoria Sports Club. Cruickshank led the way with a blistering 125 runs from just 95 balls after the Parkites opted to bat first. Darren Bravo also played a good hand, hitting 84.
QPCC racked up 322/5 from their 50 overs before Sunil Narine and Kieron Pollard sent Victoria sliding to defeat with the ball. Narine took 3-11 while Pollard took 2-41 as both men engineered a collapse of the opposition.
It was almost equally as easy at the Brian Lara Cricket Ground where Lincoln Roberts led Merry Boys to victory over Powergen. Roberts hit 106 runs from 111 balls, smacking six fours and five sixes along the way. Rishaad Harris provided some late fireworks before Merry Boys were bowled out for 227.
It hardly mattered as national pacer Marlon Richards took 3-39 to help restrict Powergen to 190 all out. Harris also starred with the ball taking 3-26. Youth player Jeron Maniram, was the only batsman to put up any real resistance, stroking a patient 54. His knock included four boundaries and two sixes.
In the other two matches, Comets had an early afternoon at Pierre Road after Kashtri Singh’s five-for. Tableland were toppled for just 91 runs in just over 20 overs while Comets romped to their target with over 38 overs to spare. Clarke Road also won easily against Central Sports.
